Here is a list of some accomplishments that have come as a result of hundreds of volunteer hours:

The Underground

We have completely transformed the basement into “The Underground” Youth Center with a pool table, ping-pong, pinball, arcade games, foosball, Nintendo Wii, PS3, XBox, etc. Every public wall surface in the basement has been painted, the ceilings have been replaced, and the floors have been restored. It is currently open Monday through Friday from 3:30-7:30 PM.

Grand Avenue Free Medical Clinic

Our clinic is part of the “Free Medical Clinics of Iowa”, which carries the insurance and handles all the state licensing issues. It has been so wonderful to see medical doctors and other healthcare professionals volunteering their time to provide care for those who otherwise do not have access to it.

Food and Clothing Outreaches

Seeing His Hands Extended open at the Dream Center hs been so rewarding. At times, the mountains of clothing have been overwhelming. However, God has ALWAYS come through with just the right amount of help at just the right moments. The volunteer staff has been incredible!. To date, the staff has served hundreds of individuals and several hundred different families. Almost 30,000 items have been given away. We are grateful to the Lord for allowing us to serve others. We currently serve over 300 families each month, distributing more than 40 tons of food annually. We are an approved agency with the Food Bank of Iowa, and are now distributing “Feeding America” USDA food (as well as other items).

Say Yes to a Dress

This formal dress outreach, opened in January 2011. Hundreds of brand new (or worn once) dresses have been given away to girls who can’t afford one. This outreach currently has a stock of over 250 dresses (including dozens of brand new wedding gowns).
